From Sunshine Queens to Osun Babes, Flamingos’ highest goal scorer, Yemisi Samuel will lead Osun Babes attacking line when the 2019-2020 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership kick-off as the Osogbo side host Adamawa Queens in their Match Day One fixture.

Little was known about the young attacker until she announced herself to the world with Nigeria Under 17 Ladies (Flamingos) scoring during warm-up games leading to their qualifying match against Guinea.

Oluwayemisi Samuel scored 8 goals in 4 friendly matches for Flamingos before grabbing a hattrick during Flamingos 6-1 first-leg victory over Guinea in Conakry. She couldn’t score during Nigeria’s return leg 5-1 victory over Guinea but she has been able to score a total of 11 goals in 6 matches for the Flamingos.

Her goal-scoring prowess will be key for Osun Babes if the team is to beat the drop come next season as they struggled with relegation last season.
