The league’s highest goal scorer last season (2018-2019), Anjor Mary is now a household name when it comes to Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL). She emerged as the league-leading goal scorer with 5 goals scoring against Kaduna Queens (1), Nasarawa Amazons away (2), Sunshine Queens (1), and Nasarawa Amazons at home (1).
Anjor Mary Magdalene won the attacker and player of the season awards during Naija Women Football League Awards 2019. She couldn’t score during the Super 4 but she provided 3 assists during Bayelsa Queens 4-0 victory over Adamawa Queens in the third-place match.
Mary was rewarded for her goal-scoring exploits by Super Falcons defender, Onome Ebi as N100,000 was given to her as a way of motivating her as the league’s highest goal scorer.
Anjor Mary joined Bayelsa Queens from Osun Babes’ after scoring ten (10) goals in one and half-season with the Osogbo based club. The 2018-2019 NWFL Premiership season was her first season with Bayelsa Queens and she rewarded her club by emerging as the highest goal scorer in the league. Her goals and in-built assist capacity will be of immense importance for Bayelsa Queens come next season.
