Today, kick442.com will be traveling to the commercial city of Nigeria, Lagos State where we’ll be pitching our tent with the Olukoya Boys.
On board today is MFM FC centre back, Alimi Adebayo.
Born to Mr and Mrs, Alimi Sikiru, Alimi Adebayo is from Osun State Nigeria. The current MFM FC of Lagos centre back once played for AS Racine of Lagos and LYS Sassandra of Ivory Coast.
Why talking about his journey from grassroot till date, Alimi said;
“Must say it’s been a smooth transition thanks to my father and family, they provided the serene environment for me to really focus on building my career.
“Started from a barrack kid playing around to been the captain of my school team(Both primary and secondary), to playing and winning the prestigious Ajegunle Mock Nations Cup (x3) then was scouted by Jonathan Akpoborie after which I joined As Racine Lagos. Played the NNL for a season then got the chance to go play in Ivory Coast for two seasons before coming back home to join MFM FC of Lagos.”
Alimi who has played 2 games this season for the Olukoya Boys said his mum is his mini-god because she is always advising and praying for him.
Aside playing football, Alimi would have love to be an athlete and the day he lost his father was his saddest day while the day he earned his first salary as a professional footballer was his happiest day as a footballer.
Alimi while rounding up his interview with kick442.com advice young footballers to stay humble, work hard and pray to God for support and he also target to help MFM FC improve their current position on the log.
