Former Ebusua defender Kingsley Nteng has disclosed the reason why he left the club before the start of the season.
According the bulky defender, he did not leave because of huge sums of money demand as it is being speculated in the media but it was due to the clubs inability to talk to his brother about his contract renewal.
“Even though they were owing me, I had the desire to play for them but things were not well with them financially so one day after our training, one of the management members called me and said they want me to agree on making the old debt a ‘bad debt’ and agree on a new contract. I was not enthused with the decision so I asked for some time to think about it and get back to him. So I called my brother to discuss it with him. When I told him, he didn’t like the idea so he demanded to talk to that management member but the management member said he doesn’t want to engage any other person apart from me the player. What most of the clubs hate is a player who has a manager but even with my case, he was not my manager but blood brother. So when it happened like that, my brother asked me to come home. I didn’t demand any money from them. Kingsley Nteng explained this to Asante Fokuo of ATL FM in Cape Coast.
Former Asante Kotoko, Aduana Stars and Liberty Professionals center back however said, looking at the love he had from the supporters, it is possible he may be back but for now, he is in advanced talk with Bechem United even though no contract has been signed.
