Football Kenya federation has signed a name sponsorship deal with Nigerian betting firm, BetKing.
In exchange of 1.2b shillings, the Kenyan Premier and the Women Leagues will be called the BetKing Premier and Women’s League for the next five-years from the 2020/2021 season.
The deal was confirmed this Thursday by FKF officials in a ceremony in the country’s political capital Nairobi.
A statement made on Twitter by FKF President Nick Mwendwa on Wednesday, July 15 confirmed the deal, stating each Premier League side will get Sh8 from the deal for the next five-years.
Football activities in the country have been off since the outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic in March this year.
Recently there have been indications stakeholders are pushing for the return of football in the East African nation.
Popular African sports broadcaster Supersport have a broadcast deal with the Kenyan Premier League while Umbro is the official kitting partner of the league.
