Senegalese international forward Keita Balde Diao is still thinking about a move to his boyhood club Lazio of Rome.
He has revealed that, he is still in touch with his coach at Lazio, Simone Inzaghi, and leaves the door open for a possible return to the Italian capital.
Balde was born in Arbúcies in Spain, on March 8, 1995, spent four years with Damm before joining Barcelona’s La Masia in 2004 where he spent seven years.
After a loan spell with Cornellà from 2010 to 2012, he joint Lazio’s Academy where he spent a year before moving into their first team.
He played 137 games for Lazio from 2013-2017, across all competitions, scored 31 goals and providing 22 assists.
He moved to Monaco in 2017 for €30 million. The Senegalese still remembers his time at the Italian capital.
“I spent eight years there, I can never close the door on them,” Balde told AS.
“In the future, who knows, nobody knows what tomorrow will bring.
“I still talk to Inzaghi. He is a coach I enjoyed playing under like with Petkovic [Vladimir Petkovic, a former Lazio coach he worked with]. I feel good with Moreno [Robert Moreno current Monaco coach] too.”
The 25-year-old Senegalese international had a loan spell in Italy with Inter Milan for the 2018-2019 season before returning to Monaco for this campaign. He has scored four goals in 21 league games for the French Ligue 1 side this term.
