Cameroon’s Karl Toko Ekambi and Frank Zambo Anguissa were both impressive as Villarreal ended her winless run in the Spanish La Liga Santander after producing a fantastic display against Leganes.
Ekambi came off the bench to assist Gerald Moreno for a brace at extra time.
The 27- year-old former Angers forward played for 14 minutes in their 3-0 thrashing over Leganes.
It is the Cameroonian’s 2nd assist this season. He has started in two fixtures so far and is yet to score.
Villarreal’s new recruit, Frank Zambo Anguissa played full time and was able to have a shot on target.
The 23-year-old midfield anchor has featured in 3 games out of four for his new club including their 2-2 stalemate with Real Madrid at home.
Anguissa was particularly fantastic playing with utmost authority at the midfield.
Villarreal had not won a fixture this season.
They have been subjected twice to a draw and a defeat.
They host Real Valladolid on day five at the 25000 Estadio de la Ceramica.
