Indomitable Lions of Cameroon midfielder Wilfred Jaures Kaptum has completed a switch to Major League Soccer side New England Revolution.
The 24-year-old who had been free since his departure from Spanish side Real Betis confirmed the switch on Wednesday December 23, for a contract of an undisclosed fee and duration.
However, he is expected to join the Club on January 1, 2021 adding to the Cameroon contingent in the championship.
The former Barcelona Academy and first team player becomes the first African on the books of the Club this season.
Though he is just 24, Kaptum with UEFA Champions League, La Liga and African Cup of nations experience is expected to bring much to coach Bruce Arena’s team in the current MLS season.
New England Revolution is the fifth Club the graduate of the Funde Sport will represent since he moved from Cameroon to Spain in 2008.
The midfielder is expected to put his form and fitness problems and get to real business in the US as soon as possible.
