Experienced Cotonsport of Garoua forward Kamilou Daouda has revealed that the side is very focused ahead of Sunday’s 2020-2021 CAF Confederation cup return leg game against Unisport of Sokode at the Roumde Adja Stadium in Garoua.

Speaking just after the team’s training this Thursday at home at the Stade de Ngalgibe Kamilou was quick to rubbish thoughts Cotonsport has an advantage going into the game.

“We played the first game away from home and now we are going to everything to get the qualification. We are not going to stay to wait for our opponents to come at us. We have to come out 100% to win the game. The two-nil win is now behind us, we are back home to finish the job,”Kamilou told kick442.com.

Speaking about the quality in the team and the importance of getting a beyond this stage if the competition, the Cotonsport of Garoua all-time lead scorer was all positive.

Cotonsport are bracing up for the first CAF interclub competitions game in Garoua for three years and Kamilou believes the results is very important and they can achieve it.

“We have many young players developing very fast. We are very confident to be better as a team in the future beginning Sunday,” Kamilou concluded.

Cotonsport, 2004 semi-finalist of the CAF Confederation have been out of the competition especially in Garoua for three years.

The Cotonites have returned home this Thursday. They master the terrain having spent a better part of their pre-season activities in Garoua thus making it a tough one for Unisport.

At 32, Kamilou is the most experienced player in the team and understands the intricacies.

Cotonsport have a two-nil lead from the first-leg encounter recorded last weekend and will be hoping to build on this to secure qualification for the next round of the competition.

Cotonsport vs. Unisport Sokode: December 6th. 15:00 CAT/2:00 GMT. Stade Roumde Adja, Garoua.

But, before we look ahead to this weekend’s game, let’s take a quick trip back to Lome last week when Cotonsport edged Unisport to win three points.

Last Match
November 29th: Unisport Sokode 0, Cotonsport 2

Cotonsport will play their first CAF interclub game at the Roumde Adja Stadium in Garoua on Sunday at 3:30pm.
