Senegalese international midfielder Idrissa Gueye has commented on a potential move for his compatriot Kalidou Koulibaly to Paris Saint-Germain.
The 30-year-old midfielder, Gueye, is a huge admirer of the 28-years-old Napoli rock solid defender, Koulibaly.
“I have not spoken about it with him [Koulibaly], nor with any other person, apart from one of my coaches who sent me a message to tell me that it would be great,” Gueye told Canal+ Afrique.
“Yes of course, it will be great for him and the club. It will also be great for me to have another Senegalese at the club.”
Gueye joint PSG last summer from English Premier League side Everton last summer. The former Lille and Aston Villa midfielder is one of the celebrated products of the popular Diambars Academy in Senegal.
“I have a perfect understanding with him. I call him my ‘general’. If he comes here it will be a good thing for him,” Gueye added.
Gueye and Koulibaly are two key members of the Teranga Lions of Senegal’s team that reached the final of the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, which they lost to Algeria.
