On the wishlists of Europe’s elite clubs, Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly might see himself blocked at Napoli as a result of the club’s asking price, kick442.com can report.
The Serie A outfit’s Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli has made a firm statement concerning a potential move for the former Metz defender.
On an interview granted to Sky Italia, the Sporting Director of the Azzurri has made it clear that Napoli will not drop their asking price for the 28-year-old defender, despite the current financial constraints on clubs’ resources as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
“He is a great player, and he has a long-term contract with us [till 2023] and the club is in its rights to ask for as much money as we want,” Giuntoli said.
Napoli’s President Aurelio De Laurentiis has fixed a high price of €100 million for the former Genk defender who joint them in 2014.
The player is valued at €56 million by Transfermarkt, with Manchester United, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Everton, Tottenham and Newcastle United all reported to be keen to secure his services.
