It is often said that, club officials don’t inform the media when their needs are satisfied but the same officials are very loud when government fails to play their part but New Stars CEO, Faustin Domkeu has contradicted that this time around.
The New Stars El Supremo told kick442.com in an exclusive interview this Friday that New Stars of Douala officials alongside those of Cotonsport of Garoua met the newly appointed minister of Sports, Narcisse Moulle Kombi on Wednesday in Yaounde to discuss directions for both clubs to better represent the country in second leg of their CAF Confederation cup clashes in Limbe for New Stars and Kumasi for Cotonsport.
The New Stars CEO confirmed his club received 30 Millions FCFA from the minister to prepare for their game and same amount was handed to their Cotonsport mate.
“Not putting any pressure on my boys, but I have decided to place an extra win bonus of 500 000 FCFA per player to motivate them. The money from the government is for the children,I trust this boys and know they will do it.” “I thank the minister for this support and we tell Cameroonians to come with us to Limbe,we will make them proud”. president Domkeu added.
A 2 nil win for Both Cameroonians clubs this weekend keeps them in the competition and put two clubs from Cameroon in the group stage of a CAF club competition for the first time in over 5 years.
