An official statement from the Royal Morocco Football Federation has confirmed that the body has parted company with Olympic Lions coach Mark Wotte due to poor results. The Dutchman failed to guide the Under 23 selection of the country pass DRC in the ongoing AFCON Qualifiers.
Morocco was eliminated by the DRC after a 2-1 aggregate score over 2 legs in the first playoffs rounds of the tournament this weekend despite registering a 1 nil win in Rabat.
The result means Morocco will miss the Under 23 AFCON tournament this November in Egypt and in effect miss Tokyo 2020 Olympic thus prompting the Moroccan Football to let go of Mark Wotte.
The 58 year old former Nederlands International spent 4 years with the team but will from today seek a new challenge elsewhere.
