Just In: Cameroon’s sports minister, reiterates the need to double efforts for AFCON 2021

Cameroon’s minister of sports and physical education, Narcisse Moulle Kombi, has said all efforts will be focus on the preparations of AFCON 2021, slated for Cameroon. Speaking during a ceremony to receive new year wishes from the Cameroon sports family, that took place at the Yaoundé Multi_purpose sports complex this Thursday January 17, 2019, Narcisse Moulle Kombi insisted that the construction of sporting infrastructures will be prioritize, with the completion of the Olembe stadium, the Japoma stadium, the Bafoussam stadium, and other complementary works at the Buea Municipal stadium and the Limbe Omnisport stadium and its annexes, being top priority.

He also disclosed that the promotion of the new law (No 2018/014 of 11 July 2018) relating to the organization and promotion of physical and sporting activities in Cameroon, will go operational. The new year wishes ceremony was also an occasion to present a balance sheet of all the activities of the ministry of sports for the year 2018.

The occasion also saw some meritorious workers of the ministry of sports, awarded medals for their hard work and also rewarding some workers of the ministry, who are going on retirement.
This is the first time Narcisse Moulle Kombi is receiving new year wishes as sports minister, following his appointment on January 4, 2019 by president Paul Biya, as he swap functions with piere Ismael Bidoung Mpatt, who is now minister of Culture, as post previously held by Narcisse Moulle Kombi.
