For the umpteenth time the Cameroon Elite One championship will not kick off as planned.
The planned date of November 10th is now off as kick442.com has learnt stakeholders have been informed that on the request of Club presidents during today’s meeting with officials of the Cameroon football federation the kick off had been shifted to an undisclosed date.
This is another major setback in the efforts to rebuild a positive impression about the Cameroon Elite football championships which have known more than its fair share of problems over the years.
Clubs like Astres of Douala that already traveled for their game on Tuesday are forced to return to base and wait for another resumption date.
Football has been off in Cameroon for eight months with most if not all footballers going without pay throughout that period.
This is happening just over 24 hours after the peace-talks between the Cameroon football federation, its League management body (LFPC) and the world’s football governing body (FIFA) was also postponed.
Clubs that had moved out of their base for League games will be compensated.
