Cameroon League 1 side Cotonsport of Garoua have purchased a 54 seater air conditioned team bus for the club’s movement from the 2019/2020 season.
The King long Bus distributed around Africa by Cami Toyota will be the club’s sole means of transportation from next season.
The club’s media officer Adamou Saliou says the move by the club’s management is aimed at facilitating movement of the team for both home and away games from next season and ensuring the players have sufficient comfort when the team moves out of its base.
kick442.com understands the new bus still to branded with the club’s emblems is a 54 seater bus with toilet facilities, bedding facilities plus air conditioning option.
Cotonsport of Garoua is arguably the most successful club presently in the Cameroon top flight having harvested 15 league 1 titles in less than 30 years in the top flight championship and appeared in two CAF club competitions final.
The first phase of the branding work on the bus is expected to be completed by next week after which the bus will be presented to the media and supporters in Douala.
It is a very bold move from President Fernand Sadou’s management team which now joins the likes of YOSA of Bamenda, NQSA of Limbe, UMS of Loum, Stade Renard of Melong in a shortlist of clubs whose players are regularly transported using their own branded facilities.
The North Region outfit covers a greater distance than all clubs in the first and second tier Championships in Cameroon every season.
