24-year-old former Kadji Sports Academy trainee, Joseph Emmanuel Chamdjou of UMS of Loum is having a season to remember with current league one champions.
Last weekend, the former Stade Renard of Melong forward scored the lone goal to help his side beat Avion Academy in the Littoral derby of match-day 20 of the Cameroon League 1 championship. The goal took his goals tally to seven goals this season.
He is the club’s lead scorer tgis season. He joined UMS in 2016 from League two side Douala Athletic Club 2000 but quickly settled in and grew into one of the club’s leaders on the pitch.
This season, he has been the man in charge of the club’s set pieces to good effect including penalties.
His good performances has made him a regular in the club’s starting XI. He has appeared in all twenty league games played by his club this term recording seven goals and four assists from that.
His UMS side is currently 6th on the log with 27 points, 10 points away from leaders Cotonsport of Garoua ahead of their clash against PWD of Bamenda on Tuesday in Loum.
Should Chamdjou have his scoring boots on, then the PWD backline will need to be at their best to stop the forward.
If the Joseph keeps getting the goals then UMS can only continue dreaming of retaining their title.
