Former Super Eagles of Nigeria and Montpelier forward John Chukwudi Utaka has been named interim head coach of the Montpelier Ladies.
The 39-year old replaces Senegal’s Frédéric Mendy who was sacked recently owing to a poor run of results.
Utaka will be assisted by Frenchman Baptiste Merle and Sports Director Jean-Louis Saez.
Utaka played for and left Montpelier seven years ago but returned to the last year as a coach.
He has a real opportunity to show what he is made up of as one of the few African coaches in charge of a European club.
Montpelier are ranked 5th on the log with 27 points from 19 games this season.
Cameroon’s Maelys Mpome is on the books of the French Club.
