To follow up a wonderful display at the AFCON finals this far, the Leon Stars will have to after pulling two incredible and breathtaking draws against the Defending champions Algeria and the Elephants of Ivory Coast, double their efforts as the task ahead is seen to be more tedious than the huddles already passed as John Keister says they will have to do more in their last and final group game than they have done in their last two matches.
Speaking after the game keister told media men that ” when you are a coach and play against the better teams it is easier, when you play against teams that you call under dogs, they are the most difficult games”.
He also added that they will double their efforts which saw them get 2 points against the 2 top sides in group E when they face off in what most have termed a clash of the outsiders in the pool.
With two points harvested in their last 2 games so far, the last match seems a final for them as Sierra Leone will be looking to avoid the fate that the Phoenix of Algeria suffered in the hands of the Nzalang Nacional and mark their long return to the AFCON with a memorable round of 16 ticket.
In the last 10 meetings between these 2 teams, Sierra Leone have come out with seven wins and two draws while this fixture hasn’t been kind to Equatorial Guinea as they have won just Once.
Equatorial Guinea have scored just one goal in two games while Sierra Leone have netted two in two games at the AFCON finals.
The last game will therefore be decisive for these 2 teams if they want to upset the odds and make it to the next round of the competition.
