Portuguese topflight side Maritimo has obtained Cruzeiro’s accord to bring back Joel Diederrick Tagueu, 26 to Portugal on a six months loan.
The deal enters application from this Wednesday 1st January 2020, it will run till June 30th, 2020.
It is the second loan stint at Maritimo for the former Botafogo man.
The striker spent the period between January 2018 to June 2019 on loan at the Portuguese Super Liga side.
He returned to Cruzeiro in June this year after missing Cameroon’s dismal 2019 AFCON campaign due an alleged heart problem detected by Cameroon’s medical team at the tournament.
Unfortunately for Tagueu Cruzeiro suffered was relegated to the second tier Championship in Brazil for the first time in their history.
The relegation has opened doors for him to return to Portugal where he had an impressive record of 17 goals in 45 appearances when he first joined Maritimo.
Tagueu is attached to Cruzeiro till June 2020.
Coach Jose Gomez and his Maritimo side are just two places above the relegation zone with just 15 points from 14 games played this season.
They are on the road against 5th-placed Rio Ave this Sunday.
Joel Tagueu could make his second debut for the club in this weekend’s fixture.
