Cameroon international and Maritimo forward Joel Tagueu was on target for his side as they lost 1-2 against Tondela in matchday 19 of the Portuguese Primeira Liga
Tondela opened the scoring at the 2ins through Jhon Murillo, with an assist from Salvador Agra.
Maritimo then pushed for an equalizer and before the half hour mark got their reward. A beautiful assist from Claudio Winck met Joel Tagueu who scored Maritimo’s equalizer. It is the second goal for Tagueu in the last two games. At half time it was 1-1 for both sides.
The second half began more promising for Tondela who at the 52mins went 2-1 ahead. Mario Gonzalez scored what will be the last goal of the encounter.
Joel Tagueu played the entire 90mins of the encounter, like he did in the previous game against Santa Clara.
It is the second consecutive defeat for Joel Tagueu and Maritimo in the league. The team lost 1-2 to Santa Clara on matchday 18.
Maritimo will be hoping to turn their fortunes when they next take to the pitch. On matchday 20 Maritimo will face second-place FC Porto on February 22. Joel Tagueu will look to make it three consecutive games that he has scored in.
Maritimo currently sits 14 on the classification table with 17 points.
