Indomitable of Lions Cameroon and FC Maritimo’s Joel Diederek Tagueu endured a bizarre performance over the weekend in the Portuguese Liga Nos.
The experienced Cameroon striker failed to score but assisted as his side recorded a narrow 2-1 win away at Nacional in match-day 23 of the championship.
An afternoon of mix fortunes ended well for Joel who made up for his missed penalty to assist the winner in the 65th minute as attacking partner R Pinho scored both goals to overturn conceded early through K Gorre.
Joel’s 15th minute penalty miss was easily forgotten at full-time as the game finished 2-1.
Joel Tagueu and international colleague Franck Bombock lasted the duration of the encounter and the former’s assist was his first in 22 games this term. He has also scored six league and two cup goals this season.
15th-placed Maritimo face Famalicao in their next league game this Sunday.
