Under 17 Lions Train at the Stade Regional de Kigali

2015 Cup of Cameroon winner and current captain of UMS of Loum has told kick442.com that the Cameroon Under 17 National team’s gain at the just ended AFCON represents Astres of Douala’s loss.

Amongst the contenders to qualify for the playoffs before Olivier Nankam left for International duty in his capacity as fitness coach of Cameroon’s Under 17 National team Astres failed to impress in Nankam’s absence picking up just 2 points from a possible 18 points in 6 games.

The bad run condemned the Brazilians of Bepanda to the 7th spot in Pool B meaning the team will be involved in the relagation playoffs to begin next Sunday in Limbe.

Coach Nankam makes his team difficult to beat, I played Under him and we won the cup of Cameroon together,it was a good time,we were a solid unit and even the team that won the Under 17 AFCON you could see his touch in the team,he is amongst the best coaches in Cameroon and unfortunately I believe Astres suffered because of his absence.”

Coach Olivier Nankam is a part of the team of coaches that guided the Under 17 team of Cameroon beat Guinea on penalties to win the just ended AFCON for that category in Tanzania.
