Bayern Munich have manifested an interest in signing Hertha Berlin’s youngster Jesic Ngankam, according to reports from Sport 1.
The 19-year-old forward will be available for free this summer after failing to extend his contract with Hertha Berlin.
Ngankam is on the wishlists of many clubs but Bayern are understood to lead the chase for the highly rated teenage striker.
According to reports from Sport 1 Augsburg, Nuremberg, St. Pauli, RB Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach are also interested in the player.
Ngankam made his Bundesliga debut for Hertha Berlin over the weekend in their 3-0 win over Hoffenheim as the German league resumed after a forced break as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
He came in as a substitute in the last 11 minutes of the game. He scored 11 goals in 22 appearances for Hertha Berlin’s Reserves team in the German Regionalliga Nordost.
Though he is currently a German youth international Ngankam is still eligible to play for Cameroon because the native of Berlin’s parents hail from Cameroon.
