Malagasy international defender Jeremy Morel has played out his contract with Rennes, but the 36-year-old might not be out of work for long.
Newly promoted to the French top flight, Racing Club de Lens and Lorient are keen on his services.
Going by reports on French daily L’Equipe, Morel is seriously considering a return to Lorient.
Morel played for Lorient from 2002 to 2011 before leaving them to join Olympique of Marseille.
He played 214 league games for Lorient, scoring 12 goals.
In 2015 he left Marseille after making 120 league appearances for them with two goals to his name and moved to Lyon, where he stayed till 2019 and made 105 league appearances for them.
In 2019 Morel signed for Rennes, for just one season.
This experienced defender made 28 appearances for Rennes across all competitions, 21 of them in the French Ligue 1, in the 2019-2020 season.
