Sassuolo striker Jérémie Boga, 23, has expressed his hunger to be back in the Elephants of the Ivory Coast camp.
In a recent conversation with RMC Sport the former France international at Youth category recounted his love for the Ivory Coast and desire to return to action with the boys of coach Patrice Beaumelle.
“I played for the French U16, U17 and U19, then a qualifying match for the African Cup of Nations for the Ivory Coast. I am French, but my origins are Ivory Coast. It has always been a choice of the heart. I only made one appearance. There, I spoke with coach Patrice Beaumelle, we will see how it will go and I hope to be back in the team, very soon,”Boga is quoted to have told RMC.
Jérémie Boga was born in Marseille-France to Ivorian parents and has spent the early days of his life in the country before moving to England to join Chelsea in 2008.
In September 2012, he made his debut and scored for the French Under-16 national selection.
He later featured for the Under-17 and Under-19 teams but decided to switch to the Ivory Coast at senior level.
On June 10, 2017, handed his senior debut for the Ivory Coast under Belgian gaffer Marc Wilmot in a 3-2 defeat at home to Guinea in a 2019 AFCON qualifiers game.
It is has been three years of steady progress without international football.
Hence, it is only normal for the forward to feel the need to go back home.
