Spanish LaLiga giants FC Barcelona have expressed interest in signing Ivorian wing-back Jeremie Boga from Italian Serie A side Sassuolo.
Barcelona’s Sporting Director Eric Abidal has been blown away by reports he has received onthe Chelsea youth product’s progress.
According to reports from Foot Mercato, Barcelona believe that Boga will be a perfect fit into their free flowing passing from the back style of football.
The Ivorian international joint Sassuolo last summer from Chelsea with the Blues holding a buy-back clause of £15million in his contract with Serie A club.
This is now going to be the obstacle for a potential move for the Ivorian to the Camp Nou, with Chelsea believed to be considering a return of the player to Stamford Bridge especially after his brother and agent Daniel confirmed a meeting with Chelsea’s Managing Director Marina Granovskaia earlier this year in London.
The 23-year-old former French youth international came through the ranks at Chelsea after joining them in 2009 as a-12-year old.
The native of Marseille break into Chelsea’s first team in 2015 and since then he has had loan spells with Rennes, Granada and Birmingham before making a permanent switch to Sassuolo in 2018.
He has made 49 league appearances for Sassuolo since then, scoring 11 goals.
