Lethal Cameroon striker Jean-Pierre Nsame was on target for his Swiss Super League championship side Young Boys Bern in a 3-1 defeat away to AS Roma at the Stadio Olympico in match-day five of the 2020-2021 UEFA Europa League.
Nsame and compatriot Nicolas Moumie Ngamaleu started the game for the visitors.
Nsame’s fifth goal in six games and his 10th of 16 games this season gave the visitors the lead in Rome 34 minutes into the game.
Borja Mayoral level a minute before half time.
14 minutes after the break, Riccardo Calafiori put the host ahead with a fine strike after a wonderful individual effort.
With the men from Bern chasing an equalizer coach Gerrardo Soane replaced Nsame and Ngamaleu with the former going off for compatriot Jordan Siebatcheu.
Ever portent finisher Edin Dzeko killed the game in the 81st minute when he scored Roma’s third just 21 minutes after coming off the bench.
The game ended on a 3-1 score in favor of Roma who take top spot and the first qualification ticket in the group while Cluj and Young Boys Bern battle for the second ticket next week.
