Stade Renard of Melong will take on the intermediate Lions of Cameroon at the newly-constructed Japoma Stadium in Douala.
The Pre-CHAN 2020 friendly will be played this Sunday, December 27 at 7pm at the jewel in the Littoral Region of Cameroon.
It will be a first game between both sides. The Lions plan to use the game as part of their lengthy preparations for the upcoming 16-nations tournament on home soil while Stade Renard of Melong prepares for the 2020-2021 season in Cameroon and showcase their players.
It will be the inaugural game at the Japoma Stadium and an opportunity for the Lions to acquaint themselves with the facility plus playing at night.
The boys of coach Martin Ntoungou Mpile recently break camp to return on December 26 with this in mind.
The team is on a good run of form as they have won their last four games, scoring 13 goals and conceding one.
The Renard-encounter is a veritable litmus test for the 2011 and 2016 CHAN quarter-finalist barely 20 days before their tournament opener against Zimbabwe in Yaoundé.
Cameroon are in group A alongside Zimbabwe, Burkina Faso and Mali.
The competition proper will be played from January 16th to February 7th 2021 across four cities in the Central African nation with some games to be played at Japoma.
