Cotonsport of Garoua lead midfielder Felix Oukine has qualified this Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Cotonsport of Garoua as a telling event for himself and his mates.
The 22-year old midfielder in his 12th season at Cotonsport and fourth season in the first team made the comments on Saturday in his capacity as the players representative during the pre-match conference.
“It is a big game, so our chances are on this and we must give our best tomorrow,” Oukine opened his pre-match comments at the CAF organized pre-match event at the Roumde Adjia Stadium on Saturday.
The midfielder who settled for a place on the bench till the second-half of the reversed fixture in which Coton lost by 0-1 last Sunday in Lubumbashi knows their future in the competition depends on life this Sunday afternoon at the famous stadium.
“I am physically ready to give my best tomorrow, it is the minimum expected of all of us if we have to progress to the next round of the competition,” Felix Oukine who started in both draws continued in his pre-match analysis before the media on Saturday.
Coton with just two points from draws against Al Masry and Otoho go into the fourth group game knowing they must beat their visitors to stand a chance of finishing in the top two positions and making it out of group C of this season’s competition.
The Ravens come to town for only the second time in their history, as leaders of Pool C with six points from wins against Otoho and a recent one-nil win against Coton thanks to a late strike from Glody Likonza two weeks ago in Lubumbashi.
Therefore, the onus are on Oukine and his mates to give the Bottom-place 2021 semi finalist a new life in the competition they enjoyed last season.
The Match-Day four clash of arguably Central Africa’s best two clubs is expected to produce fireworks from 2pm this Sunday at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua.
