Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ismaël Azzaoui will leave German Bundesliga outfit VFL Wolfsburg this summer when his current contract expires.
The Belgian-Algerian has struggled to get his career on track since swapping Spurs for Wolfsburg in 2015 as a 17-year-old then.
A combination of form and fitness has been the playmakers undoing restricting him to just two appearances of cumulatively less than 30 minutes in the Bundes campaign he somehow had some minutes of football all be it only with the feeder. He has featured on seven occasions for Wolfsburg’s under 21.
He has had some game-time with the feeder team surely not what he wants and not what the Wolfsburg coach expects from a first team player of the club.
The coach has declared Ismaël Azzaoui will not get a new deal and has to leave this summer.
“His contract will not be extended and he knows”
The 22-year-old must carefully select his next destination probably where he can shine.
