Sarah Hanffou has earned a 1st medal for team Cameroon at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games ongoing in Konya.
In a bit to defend the colours of Cameroon, the 35-year-old won bronze in table tennis Women’s Single.
She equally represented Cameroon at the commonwealth games in Birmingham after picking up qualification to represent Cameroon at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Sarah was vice champion of the women’s single table tennis at the 12th edition of the All Africa Games in Rabat Morocco in 2019.
She has won many medals in the youth categories; bronze medal at the 2001 European Cadet Team Championships, the Cadet Top Terminal in 2001 and Junior in 2003.
Back in 2012, she participated in the Summer Olympics where she defeated Lebanese,Tvin Moumjoghlian in the first round in four sets.
The lone Gold Medal Cameroon has as at now in the ongoing tournament is that of Juniour Ngadja, who won the Men’s 109kg weightlifting.
Elsewhere, the U-23 Lions of Cameroon lost their first football game to Algeria by Forfeiture after failing to show up for their first game.
However, the team took off for Turkey later this afternoon after missing their game which was scheduled for 1:30 pm, to go prepare for their upcoming battles.
