Iranian women fans will enter a Stadium and watch their male football team play for the first time in over 40 years.

More than 3500 woman have secured tickets to attend Iran’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Cambodia at the Tehran Azadi Stadium on Thursday.
Women have been reserved four sectors of the 78000 capacity stadium.

Since 1979, Iranian women have had rare access to Stadiums .

Iran has come under immense pressure to permit women attend this round World Cup Qualifiers.

World Football Governing Body FIFA has not taken the issue lightly as she threatened to suspend Iran over her male-only policy.

The Football Association president Gianni Infantino further urged Iran to open domestic league matches for women but authorities haven’t given a positive respond to the request.

The decision to allow Iranian women access to Stadiums has not been an easy ride.

An Iranian supporter Sahar Khodayari died last month after she set herself at blaze outside the court.
The Esteghlal FC supporter was scared she will be jailed for attending a match.

She was detained last year after trying to sneak into the Stadium dressed as a boy.

Women were locked out of the Azadi Stadium in June during a friendly game between Iran and Syria. Some were arrested by security.
