NGV football academy champions of the West region have picked up the first three points in Pool A in the ongoing National Interpools in Limbe.
Goals from Alex Boris Tatonfack and Wilfried Nana were enough for NGV despite Nkufu pulling one back.
NGV Football Academy of Menoua opened scores less than a minute into the start of the match.
Barely 13 seconds into the match, Wilfried Nana delivered a perfect cross that was beautifully converted by Alex Boris Tatonfack to give NGV an early lead into the match.
The early goal caused the youthful team of Nkufu Academy to come out of their shelves as they dominated possession of the ball and created many scoring opportunities.
Rayan Ebene and his teammates came close to leveling scores but the defense line of NGV Football Academy remained resolute.
The dominance of Nkufu and their hopes of leveling scores were squashed in the last minute of the first half when Wilfried Nana scored double scores for NGV.
In the second half, Nkufu Academy dominated the early stages of the match and at the 50th minute of play, Rayan Ebene delivered a perfect cross to Cyrille Emmanuel Ngambi who scored to reduce the scores.
With Oscar Etouga out injured, Nkufu Academy had more reasons to go in search of the equalizer.
They mounted a lot of pressure on the defense of NGV. However, they failed to level scores as NGV picked up the first three points in Pool A.
