The newly-appointed head coach of the intermediate Lions has decided against making changes to the squad of players selected by his predecessor Yves Clement Arroga 24 hours before he was sacked on Wednesday.
Despite contemplating making changes to the squad of 28 players, the 62-year-old experienced trainer has settled on continuing where Arroga stopped, per our findings.
Therefore 28 players will gather at the CAF Excellence center in Mbankomo on Monday, October 26 to begin life in the second Mpile era.
In the goalkeeping department, Arroga kept faith on the three boys in the last two camps.
Anye Derick Fru of Cotonsport of Garoua, Epane Litizi of Stade Renard of Melong and Dande Junior of APEJES of Mfou are the three custodians in the mix.
In defense, the former coach has recalled seven of the defenders who completed the last camp with the exception of right-back Daouda Alim. Daouda has been replaced by Fabonge Frankline of Astres of Douala who sparkled during the group stage of the ongoing Bepanda Info pre-season tournament in Douala.
Etame, Doh, Banga, Ndzana, Yankam, Andoulou and Youssoufa complete the defenders union.
12 midfielders have been retained by the coach with Nchindo John Bosco of PWD of Bamenda keeping his place in the squad and Aboubakari Sidiki of Union Sportive of Douala coming in for the first time. Aboubakari’s omission in previous list of players has been a topical issue for the wrong reasons given that the player is a part of the senior national selection and scored six goals last term for Union Sportive of Douala.
Richard Ebongue, Fabrice Onana, Stephane Meyoupo, Man Ykre, Banbe Thierry, teenage sensation Abdoulaye Yahaya are some of the familiar midfield faces in the squad without Pange Lobe.
Yves Clement Arroga named five forwards who are now available for coach Mpile including newcomers Akoh Calistus of APEJES and 2019 Under-17 AFCON sensation Alioum Moubarak of Sahel of Maroua plus Leon Boyomo who scored the winner against Fauve Azur last weekend. Nlend Samuel of Union Sportive of Douala and Francis Elimbi of Stade Renard of Melong completes the squad of 28.
