A brace from Union Sportive of Douala skipper Samuel Nlend and a goal from Epee Dipita was enough for the boys of coach Yves Clement Arroga to deny Leopards the chance of creating an upset.

It was the first chance for coach Yves Clement Arroga to see the output of his team after over a week of work in Douala.

The league 2 side started brightly and had the lead at half time after winger Ewane beat goalkeeper Epane Letizi from a set piece situation.

It took just three minutes in the second segment for Nlend Samuel to pounce on a kind ball and equalized for the Lions.

“Bana Njo” will not come back into the contest till full time.

Nlend Samuel converted a 61st minute penalty to make it 2-1 before Epee Dipita sealed the deal with the Lions third goal of the evening.

At full time at the Bepanda Omnisport Stadium, it was a satisfactory 3-1 victory for the Lions.

They face League 1 side Avion Academy this Wednesday at 4PM at the Bepanda Omnisport Stadium.

The Lions will continue their preparations for April’s CHAN competition. They are expected to have some international friendly games before the 16 nations competition which begins on April 4th and run for three weeks in Yaounde, Douala, Limbe and Buea.
