Ghanaian football star Asamoah Gyan is going to sit out the remainder of the season after a combination of severe injuries picked up during the month of December with his current side NorthEast United.
Ghana’s all-time top goalscorer and former Sunderland center – forward was involved in a collision with the goalkeeper of Aletico de Kolkata that floored him at the 9th minute of play, on December 8. Gyan then had to leave the field trotting gingerly, and the aftermath was an injury on the thigh that lasted for over 12 days. The poachers return was short-lived, and he suffered yet another injury setback on December 28th in his last game for his club NorthEast United against Kerala Blasters which ended one – all.
Asamoah Gyan was firing from all cylinders with four goals and an assist having played just 8 games for the Indian Super league this season.
Gyan, 34, is going to be dearly missed by his teammates and fans of NorthEast United who are languishing at the bottom half; 9th out of 10th in the Indian Super League with just 11 points out of 12 match days.
