Cameroon forward Jean Pierre Nsame made all the difference for defending Swiss champions Young Boys of Berne in their 2-3 win against FC St Gallen 1879.
The Cameroon forward led a three man front line for Young Boys along side Ivorian Roger Assale and his Cameroon compatriot Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu.
The 26 year old Cameroon forward whose brace handed Young Boys a 2-0 win against Lugano in their previous encounter continued from where he left off at the 13th minute. A defensive error from FC St Gallen left their defense exposed to three Young Boys players against one defender for the home side.
Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu calmly slotted the ball to Nsame who showed all his class to beat St Gallen’s goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic at the 13th minute to give Young Boys the lead.
Young Boys were two goals up at the 32nd minute when Ulisses Garcia grabbed their second.
They however almost shared the spoils after St Gallen reduced the scores at the stroke of half time through Jordi Quintilla, and six minutes into the second half, a Cédric Itten penalty made it 2-2.
But the pair of Cameroonians up front for Gerardo Seoane’s team had the final say.
Nsame and Ngamaleu combined again at the 81st minute, just like in their first goal Ngamaleu provided and Nsame did the finishing to hand Young Boys a third win in four league games. They are now top of the table with 10 points ahead Basel on nine.
