Rennes’ coach Julien Stephan has sent the list of players retained to participate in the club’s Europa League campaign this season to UEFA.
The list of 25 players retained for the competition for the 2019 French Cup winners includes three potential Indomitable Lions.
22 year old defender Gerzino Nyamsi, 23 year old winger James Edward Lea Siliki and 23 year old Washington DC born forward Theoson-Jordan Siebatcheu.
Gerzino Nyamsi is a Rennes youth product but was loaned out to Chateauroux in 2018. He is more and more gaining game time and is always in the team though he is yet to become a regular starter.
Lea Siliki developed through the academies of RC Gonesse, PSG, Guingamp and Rennes.
He played for Guingamp and Rennes’ B teams before breaking into the Rennes first team in 2017.He has played for the French U-19s national team.
Theoson-Jordan Siebatcheu was born in Washington D.C in the United States.
He is eligible to play for France, the United State and Cameroon.
He has already played for France at youth level and the USA has already made inquiries about the player as far back as May 2018.
He came through the ranks at Reims, and was promoted into their first team in 2015. He scored 20 goals in 69 league games for Reims before a successful loan spell with Chateauroux in 2017, where he scored 10 league goals in 15 games in the French second tier,He moved to Rennes in 2018.
Rennes will kickoff their UEFA Europa League campaign against Scottish giants Celtic Glasgow on September 19, 2019.
