Retired Cameroonian striker , Albert Roger Milla and Osih Joshua Nambangi have both thrown their support behind Patrick Mboma to become Cameroon’s indomitable lions headcoach.

Both sport personalities believe it is time to put a Cameroonian at the helm of the country’s senior male national selection.

Patrick Mboma announced his intentions to become the next headcoach of Cameroon on Monday.

Roger Miller holds that experience alone is not a guaranteed criterium to succede as a headcoach.

” Michele Platini coached the French football team. He had not handled any selection before. Alain Giress also managed the Blues but was never manager a team before. So I don’t see any reason why because Mboma has not managed any selection, he doesn’t deserve the job. It has nothing to do with it ” said retired forward Roger Miller.

Cameroon’s FA 2nd vice president, Osih Joshua is largely supportive of Mboma’s candidacy.

The North West emblematic sports man of the year says Patrick Mboma will be his candidate.

” If i had my say, Patrick Mboma will be my candidate based on those who have applied. It is time to put a Cameroonian at the head of the Indomitable lions ” Osih Joshua said on ABK radio.

Patrick Mboma won 2 afcon titles and an Olympic gold medal for Cameroon in his 9 year football career with the lions.

He scored 142 goals in 318 games for both club and country before he retired in 2005.
