2017 Cameroon League 1 winner, Andre Anicet Mbarga Foe has told that he has submitted application to become the next head coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

The former Bamboutos, New Stars of Douala ,UMS of Loum, Eding de la Lakie and Bamboutos FC of Mbouda head coach is one of the most successful coaches in the last few years in Cameroon.

Coach Anicet Mbarga Foe prepared the UMS of Loum team which won the Cameroon League 1 championship in 2016 but left before they became champions.

He followed up that season with a 2017 Cameroon League 1 title success as head coach of Eding Sport de la Lakie who had been promoted to the top flight a season earlier.

Anicet Mbarga Foe was voted the best coach in the Cameroon League 1 championship in that season.

He left Eding Sport de la Lakie in January 2018 just before the start of the 2018 CAF Champions League following a public disagreement with the club’s Cheif executive Officer.

The German trained coach later joined Bamboutos FC of Mbouda and guided the club to a 3rd place finished in the 2018 football season.

Unfortunately, he did not have the chance to guide the club in the competition as Bamboutos was demoted by FIFA.

In 2018 the head coach told this reporter that he had gathered enough experience to get into coaching national teams.

Coach Anicet was one of Burundi’s coaches at the 201o AFCON tournament in Egypt.

There has not been any public request for submission of applications but I forwarded my application“; coach Mbarga stated this Wednesday

In the last 5 seasons, he has helped UMS of Loum and Eding Sport de la Lakie win the national championship in Cameroon. In that time, he has also helped masterminded the CAF Confederation Cup qualification of the 2015 New Stars of Douala team and Bamboutos FC in 2019.

Earlier this year, FIFA invited Anicet Mbarga Foe amongst other World greats in the coaching business for a seminar in Germany aimed at reviewing the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Cameroon has been without a head coach since Clarence Seedorf lost his job after the dismal performance of the Lions at the 2019 AFCON tournament June-July in Egypt.

Recent reports have linked former Indomitable Lion Patrick Mboma and Former Girondin of Bordeaux head coach Gustavo Poyet to the vacant coaching job.

The above two coaches have accepted being linked with the job, therefore coach Foe increases the number to three persons and counting.
