Dear Clarence Seedorf,
It is with much delight that I received your list of 23 players for the round 6 AFCON Qualifier game against Comoros Island in Yaounde. I must say I am very excited that you decided to recall Jean Pierre Nsame given that he has been excellent for Young Boys Berne this season. Just like Nsame, many other players are in your squad for this crucial game whose current form has given them the right to a place. Based on the above mentioned reason,it could have only been normal that players like Franck Kom of Esperance of Tunis(Nominee for 2018 African Footballer of the Year, holding midfielder in CAF team of the 2018 Champions League and winner of the competition), Lukong Bongaman of AS Vita (Captain and Goalkeeper of AS Vita Club,Voted Best Goalkeeper in the DRC and Champion of the year 2018),Amour Patrick Tygnyemb of Bloemfontem Celtic (Captain of his club currently with better Clean sheet records than the 2018 CAF goalkeeper of the year Dennis Onyango of Mamelodi Sundowns),Etta Bawak Thomas of Cotonsport of Garoua (Best full back in the Cameroon Championship for 4 consecutive seasons now, most performant Cameroonian player currently for Cotonsport of Garoua). I understand that you want to work with the best players but the above mentioned players have never been selected in your era though they have been more performant than some of the selected players in the last 12 months.
Coach I know you have one of the most difficult task in the world, but what I also understand you will love to leave a legacy in Cameroon football.Since having the best players at your disposal can help you realize this dream,I don’t intend to influence your selection of players by any means but urge you to take time out to observe these players and others especially in African championships including ours just like you were out there in Amsterdam to observe Andre Onana Onana.
Coach and mentor to many young footballers around the world, your presence in the stands when the likes of in-form Serge Ekollo Malolo of Dragon Yaounde,Nkuissi Legrand of Stade Renard,Dooh Alain Mokoko of YOSA,Ako Assomo may just give these players and many more a different energy and give you more options for the growth of our National teams.
We all intend to have a stronger Cameroon team, a team that can challenge for all honours and make the coach and country successful beginning with winning the next qualifier game against Comoros Island and taking our team to Egypt to defend the crown we won in 2017.
Best Wishes, but know the Cameroonians who cheer you today will abandon you if you don’t get results.
