Imo Strikers have emerged as Champions of the maiden Soccer Queens Cup after playing out a 1-1 draw with Royaltoms Queens in the last game of the tournament at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, Kogi State.
The Strikers finished top of the table with 12 points ahead of Royaltoms Queens (8 points).
Fortress Ladies (6 points), Abruka Queens (4 points), and Kaduna Queens (0 points) also took part in the tournament.
This will be the inaugural edition of the Soccer Queens Cup which brings teams from all the geo-political zones together.
According to the Coordinator of the tournament, Moses Bako Nagogo, the tournament encourages the grassroots clubs to grow and serve as a breeding ground to discover talents for the women’s national teams.
The tournament is expected to be an annual event after the success of the maiden edition.
