The Desert Foxes of Algeria couldn’t make it two wins out of two in the ongoing Handball World Cup in Egypt after losing 39-24 goals against Iceland on Saturday.
Algeria matched the Icelandic side at the beginning of the game, but Iceland were in cruise control minutes later.
From then on it was Algeria for the taken as Iceland did everything right scoring 22 goals out of 23 shots thrown at the goalkeeper in 30 minutes.
By half time, it was 22 points for Iceland and 10 for Algeria and even though the north African country put up a better performance in the second half, turning the game around was herculean task.
It was a great win for Iceland who had lost it first match against Portugal, but for Algeria it was an unfortunate loss who now have it all to play against a Portuguese side who is flying in this tournament.
