Host Egypt bounced back to winning ways after losing their last group game to beat Russia in the main round of the IHF Men’s World Championship in Egypt on Wednesday.
The 2020 African Champions now has four points after a 28:23 win against Russia Handball Federation in group IV.
The game was really tight with the two teams taking five points each at the initial stage of the tie, but it was Egypt who led by the break winning 15:8.
Even though the Russians tried to come back to the game, the African side remained steadfast with their performance to take the tie.
Egyptian handball legend and captain Ahmad El-Ahmar, the man of the match winner was instrumental to ensuring the Pharaohs got their third victory of the championship.
