After spending over a year in disguise exile from the Fernabache first team, Sydney 2000 Olympic gold Medalist,Idriss Carlos Kameni has made some worrying comments about his time at the Turkish club especially since the arrival of Turkish coach Aykut Kocaman.
Speaking to Spanish outlet,Marca this Thursday, Kameni lamented about the maltreatment of players in Turkey mentioning many other players that have been through his situation;
“When the new coach, the Turkish Aykut Kocaman, arrived in November, he excluded me from the squad for no reason. With his predecessor, I did not play, but at least I was a part of the team.The situation now is different,I train alone and I go home, I hope to leave this summer, but I will do it without hard feeling, it’s very unpleasant, in what world do we live? “
“It only happens here, Turkish football it is very strange, unbelievable, it’s another world, before I came I heard about it but I never imagined it would happen.It is not the first time it is happening in the Turkish league, it happened to Robin Van Persie, Pepe, Wesley Sneijder or Lukas Podolski, but nothing has changed.” Kameni said.
Kameni had declared his intentions to leave the club in the January transfer window but failed to find a club forcing the former Espagnol and Malaga CF Wonderboy to stay in Turkey.
The veteran keeper is going through the most difficult days of a very long Career,he has not been a regular at club level.He has made only 9 league appearances since he joined Fernabache in July 2017. Kameni is still to play for Fernabache this season.
