The Nigerian Cricket team also known the Yellow Greens unfortunately could not make it to the UAE for the ICC Men T20 World Cup world region taking in November 2019 after two of their games were abandoned against Namibia and Uganda at the ICC Men’s T20 Africa region competition which took place AF Kampala, Uganda.

The team finished third behind the Namibia and the Kenyan cricket teams who placed first and second respectively.

The final games of ICC Africa T20 qualifiers were been called off due to heavy rains hence the winner was determined from previous games played.

The decision means Namibia and Kenya becomes first and second respectively judging fro their performances and they both qualify for the world qualifiers.

The Nigerian team had their maiden victory in the competition against Botswana by winning with 11 runs. They also defeated rivals, Ghana by 28 runs after losing to Kenya in their first game.

The Namibia and Botswana games were both abandoned due to heavy downpour in Kampala leaving the team to stay third.
