French Ligue 1 side Racing club of Strasbourg have handed a two-year contract extension to their 22-year-old France-born potential Mali international Ibrahima Sissoko.
The defender was initially tied to the club till the summer of 2022 but he has signed a new two-year-deal which will keep him at the club till the summer of 2024.
The club announced the new deal on their official Twitter page on Saturday.
The former Stade Brest defender enjoyed a stellar 2019-2020 season featuring in 32 games from which he scored one goal for Strasbourg.
He has featured in four different French youth national selections but remains eligible for the Eagles of Mali.
The decision to have the defender commit his future to the club is considered by many pundits as a good move for both parties.
