Based on first impression, the Mena of Niger are a promising team with some outstanding individual quality barely days before the start of the CHAN 2020 in Cameroon.
The young forward put the Zambian defense in total difficulties on Saturday in their first fixture in the Pre-CHAN 2020 invitational Tournament in Cameroon.
The forward on the books of Sahel SC of Niger scored twice in the 3-3 draw against a Zambian side that sacrificed a two-goal advantage to late in the second segment.
The forward’s pace across 90 minutes was a joy to watch as he nearly pierced the Zambian backline every time he wanted to.
His work ethics earned a 13th and 66th minutes goal to help his team recover from a losing position.
His runs, work rate and above all precision in the final-third are remarkable factors in his game which if maintained can turn out to define his destiny and that of his country in the upcoming African Nations Championship penciled for January 16 to February 7 across four cities in Cameroon.
Niger face Cameroon next and Ouganda later in the Pre-CHAN invitational Tournament before opening their group stage game on January 7 against Libya in Douala. They face DR Congo and Congo Republic later in the main tournament.
Ibrahim Djibrilla Issa has it all to give his country a good room in the tournament.
