The lead trainer of the Intermediate selection of the DR Congo has recovered from the the Covid-19 infection and is available for his side going forward.
Ibenge who has only lead the two-times champions of the CHAN once from his dugout since arriving Cameroon watch from the recovery unit as his side secured qualification with a 2-1 win against Niger on Tuesday and the atmosphere in his squad was made even better when the medical team of the tournament confirmed he and three players initially Covid-19 positive have returned a negative result.
The return of especially the lead trainer just in time for Saturday’s derby quarter-final in the CHAN is a huge boast for his side.
Mihayo who sat in for Ibenge has the full support of his boss from the touch line on Saturday.
Ibenge and Cameroon’s coach Martin Ndtoungou Mpile will go head-to-head for the second time in their coaching career. The latter won the last competition last meeting between both sides.
